Unmarked Boston Fire Ford Explorer Responding Lights and Sirens- Forward-Facing Blue Lights

Forward-facing blue lights for this Boston Fire Department unmarked Ford Explorer responding to an emergency in the financial district of downtown Boston. This is the first time that I've seen a Boston Fire vehicle with forward-facing blue lights which are normally reserved for municipal, state and federal law enforcement in Massachusetts. This may be part of the Boston Fire Investigation Unit whose members are sworn law enforcement officers, or this is simply an officer's car with an emergency lighting error.
