Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland come to halt during 2023 Linlithgow Marches in Scotland

Drum Major leads The Band of the Royal Regiment of Scotland playing "Stirling Castle", as they come to a halt on their return march through Linlithgow during the 2023 Linlithgow Marches. These were held on Tuesday 13th June 2023 at Linlithgow in West Lothian, Scotland, 15 miles west of Edinburgh.

The Band is one of the three official bands of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, and are based at Dreghorn Barracks in Edinburgh.

Linlithgow is one of Scotland’s most ancient Burghs, having received a royal charter from King Robert II in 1389. This gave the town’s authorities the right to hold markets, claim revenue and administer the port of Blackness. A condition was an annual payment to the king – and the need to patrol the town’s properties and boundary every year - the origin of “The Marches".
