Elephant carers, Last, Shepherd and Tigere share some snippets and tips on how to identify a male (bull) versus a female (cow) elephant.

They focus mainly on the distance between the dung and urine that is often passed at the same time. Males tend to urinate facing backward, which lands on or close to the dung. Females tend to urinate further forward, creating a distance between the areas. These distances also helps indicate the size of the elephants too.

Last and Tigere also highlight the difference in the shape of elephants' heads. Female foreheads are more angular shaped, while male foreheads are more rounded.

Tigere also ventures below Jabulani's stomach to show that both male and female elephants have teats; however, the females are more pronounced with more significant breast tissue.
