Benaiah, one of David's mighty men,
went down into a pit on a snowy day and defeated a lion.
He also stood before a huge Egyptian holding a spear
and won with only a staff.

Benaiah's life reminds us of David,
who struck down the lion and the bear,
and who stood before Goliath
with stones and a staff.

The battles of David and Benaiah showed us
that victory does not depend on body size, weapons,
or outward conditions,
but belongs to God.

Even weak tools like a staff and stones
become tools of victory when held in God's hand.
In Jesus,
God raises us up again, weak as we are.

Do not be afraid because of what seems lacking.
Let us rely on God.
Expecting the restoration and victory God gives,
let us walk today by faith,
boldly on the path of victory.
