We built an off grid, tiny house, log cabin for free.

I bought the chainsaw for £300, chopped the trees down to build the walls, cut the branches into logs, then sold them for about £600. The door, the windows and frames were all salvaged for free. The roof sheets were reused from another job and I covered it with a large piece of plastic which cost me £15. I spent about £30 on nails and screws. Lived very happily, rent free in here for 5 years.
Inside floor space was originally 7 foot by 8 foot. I washed outside all year round and cooked over an open fire outside almost every day too, except if it was raining too hard (because that puts the fire out). Every year I harvested thousands of apples, walnuts, figs, cherries, blackberries, wild strawberries, olives and an abundance of wild edibles.
