Veravin 2.0 in Quebec City | Exploring Gluten-free Restaurants
Recently, my boyfriend and I took a road trip to Nova Scotia. On our way, we stopped at Veravin 2.0 in Quebec City, Canada. It’s an entirely gluten-free restaurant that serves fantastic comfort food. If you have celiac disease, a gluten intolerance, or are on a gluten-free diet for any reason, this restaurant is an amazing option!
The menu changes seasonally, but when we came, some of the standout menu items included:
- a HUGE selection of gluten-free beer (including my favourite, Glutenberg Red, which was available as draft beer. I had never seen gluten-free beer on tap before!)
- gluten-free onion rings—made with gluten-free beer batter (you MUST get these!)
- gluten-free bruschetta
- gluten-free poutines (several different kinds!)
- 5 different kinds of burgers, including more classic versions and some fun flavours like pulled pork & cajun chicken
- gluten-free veggie burgers (we’re vegetarian, so this is what we got!)
- gluten-free beer-battered fish and chips
- gluten-free mac and cheese
- a whole selection of gluten-free desserts (we got a carrot cake and a super decadent chocolate cake)
- plus SO many more options.
It’s a relatively small restaurant, and it was very busy, so you should definitely make a reservation ahead of time. They were almost completely booked 2 weeks in advance when booking my second reservation! Also, be sure to check the hours!
Veravin 2.0 was my favourite gluten-free restaurant from the entire trip, and you need to check it out if you’re ever in Quebec City. (Or heck, make a trip to Quebec just to try it!)
