Duo is half an inch taller. Both come with a stainless steel inner pot that holds 3 quarts.
The electrical cord on the Duo is 24 inches long and detachable. The cord on the Lux is 30 inches long and not detachable. To open and close the lid, Duo has a handle on top of the lid. The Lux’s handle is more like a slot to insert your hand. Duo has a lid holder on either side so you have a place to insert the lid which is convenient. The Lux does not have a lid holder. For venting, the Duo lid has Sealing and Venting marked. The Lux has Sealing marked once and Venting marked twice on the lid. So you can turn the handle to either side to vent.
Both come with recipe books and accessories. There is a slight difference in the programs. Duo has a yogurt function and a bean/chili function that the Lux doesn’t. The Lux has an egg program that the Duo doesn’t. Just because there is no program for yogurt or egg doesn’t mean you can’t make yogurt or eggs in either model. You can make yogurt without the yogurt function - there is a recipe in the manual. You can steam eggs using the rack and setting a time manually. So you can cook the same things in both models. Also, Duo has high and low pressure instead of just high. Manual button is marked as “pressure cook” on both models. This button is what you use to set whatever time you want to cook food instead of using a program.
Duo Manual Keep warm up to 99 hours 50 minutes. Lux is max of 10 hours.
The Lux is about $20 cheaper than the Duo. The Duo is more convenient than the Lux since it has the lid holder, pressure adjustment and extra programs.
