Vladimir Ashkenazy plays Chopin Etudes op. 25 and mazurka - live 1962

Vladimir Ashkenazy playing Chopin's 12 etudes, op. 25, with Mazurka op. 30 no. 4 as an encore, live at the 1962 Dubrovnik Summer Festival. This was shortly after he triumphed at the Tchaikovsky competition. The photo shows Ashkenazy with Dmitri Sakharov and their teacher Anaida Sumbatyan. Unfortunately about two-thirds of the etudes have a strange clicking sound, like a worn-out CD-R. More info here –
