A Daunting Task! Tugs Breaking Ice to get those ships out of the Fraser Shipyard!
5 feet at a time! sure was a tedious task for the Tugs Kentucky and Missouri. I believe normally the USCG Spar would have taken most of the work for them. Rumor has it the cutter was having issues. They spent pretty much the night breaking the ice all the way down to the drydock so they could get the American Mariner out of Fraser and over to the CN dock to load iron ore. Keep in mind they had to break the ice from Howards Bay all the way to the CN dock as well! As I woke for work the next day, I saw the Mariner was pulling into CN around 06:05 AM!
