We had a few requests to upload our highlight videos of our wedding to our channel, and really wanted to share these memories with you all again, whether you were old or new subscribers! We will include details of what each event consists of below for any viewers who may not be Punjabi or don't have understanding of the traditions, so you can learn a little more about them! We really hope you enjoyed watching these and celebrating the wedding along with us, it feels like this was so long ago!

MAYIAN/VATNA EVENT:

The ceremony of "Mayian" / "Vatna" is performed at the couple's separate homes. The bride and groom are situated on a wooden board called a patri, and a red fabric is held above by four female or male relatives. while seated on a parti, the "Vatna" ritual is performed which is basically a cleansing event. In this event, the couple's families rub yellow turmeric glue upon their legs, face, and arms. This is done to wash down and balance the body for wedded life. Amid the ceremonial ladies sing customary melodies and those of the biradari get the custom endowment of gogley (Punjabi desserts exceptionally cooked for weddings) toward the finish of the function.

JAGGO EVENT

The ceremony "Jaggo" is a big pre-wedding party. In this ceremony, the family dances and sings in the wonderfully designed wedding home. Jaggo is celebrated the night before the wedding and in the most recent hours of the night. The family decorate copper or metal vessel called khadaa with diveh (mud lights) and fill them with mustard oil and light them. The lady or husband's maternal auntie (mami) conveys it on her head, and another lady will convey a long stay with ringers, shaking it. The ladies will at that point go into other loved ones' homes; in the wake of being invited by desserts and beverages, they move there and proceed onward. It is an uproarious service, loaded up with delight, moving, firecrackers, and sustenance.

ANAND KARAJ CEREMONY/WEDDING CEREMONY

The Anand Karaj ceremony is a joyous occasion in which families and companions from the two sides are intensely included. Most Sikh weddings occur toward the beginning of the day and are finished before early afternoon. Following the function is a langar or a formal lunch. The wedding occasion can keep going for the entire day and may spill into the following day. Most families join the wedding function with the commitment service called the "kurmai", which is held just before the wedding pledges or laavan. There are 4 laavan's that take place within the ceremony. The laavan are hymns where the bride and groom walk around the holy bible to amend their wedding.

RECEPTION CEREMONY

The ceremony "Reception" is a big post-wedding party. Like any reception we celebrate the marriage with a "Bang" and end all the events on a good note. Amazing dance performances, food and music is provided to everyone who attends.
