Big Sister. Russian girl becomes Mum to 6 siblings

When 19-year-old Kristina learned that her mother had died, she had no time to grieve. She had one goal; to keep her six siblings together and not let Child Services take them into care. After a six-month trial period, Kristina won custody of her brothers and sister. The family of children lives on a farm and lead hectic lives together, taking care of cattle, pets and each other.

RTD visits Kristina’s family in the tiny village of Elizavetopolka in Central Russia. What is it like to parent your siblings and manage a big household at such a young age?
