The latest batch of Thai hostages released by Hamas have returned home from Israel after they were freed on November 29, 2023. Of the 240 hostages taken during the Hamas incursion into Israel on October 7, 32 were from Thailand. They were among the tens of thousands of Thai nationals who had been hired as farm workers in Israel. But many have since fled fighting in the region, leaving Israeli farms with a severe worker shortage.
