Welcome to the Second episode of Country Critters!

I live out in the country... WAY out in the country. Wild critters are all around me. This year I had several snakes in my path. This Garter Snake, named "Whiplash" was especially special coming to me in my garden. And so he has been welcomed into my home! Turns out he loves to eat fish and amphibians! I just happen to have plenty of toads around the house so he is not going to go without his natural food supply! It takes anywhere from four days to a week for him to fully digest something this size.

I'd have to say a garter snake is one of the best snakes to have as a pet! I seriously almost love him more than my dog... Just kidding! They also live more than twice the life expectancy in captivity than in the wild.
