CSX Q353 a Dash 8 leads power only move through Deshler.

Another excellent summer day for railfanning at the world-famous Crossroad Rail Park located in Deshler, Ohio. It has been a few months since Liam and I have visited Deshler and we were very excited to get some live rail action.

As soon as we arrived CSX V936 was rolling North on the Toledo Subdivision line with a load of grain empties. Leading this train was CSX locomotive 5260 a GE ES44DC and lashed up with CSX locomotive 4540 a SD70 AC. The crew was very friendly by greeting us with smiles, waves and a mini horn show.

Shortley after Q353 running light power East on the Garret Sub Division crossing onto the Willard Sub Division. Q353 works the North Baltimore, Ohio yard and then turns South onto the Toledo Branch. Q353 was powered by CSX locomotive 7779 a GE C40-8W (DASH 8) built in 1992 for CSX. Locomotive 5367 followed up a GE ES40DC built for CSX in 2006.

Next up was a West bound intermodal Q170 North Baltimore, Ohio to Los Angelos California. Q170 was led by BNSF locomotive 3958 a ET44C4 and Locomotive 5058 dressed in the H2 paint scheme. 5058 is a C44-9W.

Things got a bit slow so we decided to travel East towards the North Baltimore Intermodal yard.
We set up in a little town called Hoytville, Ohio. About 300 people live here and I think we were the most excitement the town has had in many years.
It was not long and I191 was lined up and starting to make its move West towards Chicago, Illinois.
This train has a DPU on the year for quick round trips. Leading I191 was CSX locomotive 3428 a GE ET44AH and on the end of this train was CSX locomotive 3357 another GE ET44AH. 3357 was turned off and in tow.

Locomotive 3111 A ES44AH was working the yard and pulled out a load of stacks to make room for CSX I175 a daily intermodal train that runs from Northwest Ohio ICTF to BNSF yard in Cicero, Illinois.
I175 was being led West bound by CSX locomotive 812 a GE ES44AH. This train had a middle DPU CSX locomotive 900 another GE ES44AH.

We decided that we had seen enough live rail action for the day and started the long trip South home.
