Finding care as an adult with hydrocephalus

Finding medical care shouldn't be difficult, especially for a life-threatening disorder, but it can be for people living with hydrocephalus. Mary Conyard was diagnosed at 4 months old with the condition in which spinal fluid builds up in brain cavities. At age 20, after two decades of consistent care, she struggled to find a neurologist who would see her regularly. Then she met Mike Williams, who leads UW Medicine's formal transitional hydrocephalus program. See our related blog post.
