Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat NV 2.0 bike rack on the back of our 2024 Kia Sorento. Now, this will be a solid choice if you're trying to carry a variety of different styles of bikes, and this is gonna be a really easy one to work with. And to really show you what I mean, I can actually tilt it back real quick. And you're just gonna come to the front of it, pull on this handle and this will tilt back. And this is actually a pretty impressive tilt because this is gonna have a weight capacity of 60 pounds per bike, so this can even carry those heavy e-bikes too.

And the reason why you might wanna tilt it back is to access your hatch. And this will allow you the opportunity to either put away some groceries, some other bags. Or if you wanna get ready for your ride, you can. You can take a seat, grab your helmet, tie your shoes, then you should be ready to go. And we just need to make sure we put everything back into place when we're done.

(hatch beeping) And as we put this into the seated position, all we have to do is lift up on the rack until you kind of feel it click into place. And from here, we can actually take off our bike. And to do that, I like to start with the back tire, (button clicks) pressing on this button and then remove the strap, and then tuck that away and then move over to the front tire. You notice this is a front ratcheting hook, so we're only making contact with the wheel. So that makes it perfect for any bikes that are carbon frame, alternative frame, or just have a really nice paint job.

And then from here, we can just lift up and take it off. Now just keep in mind, if you do have those heavy e-bikes on here, that will be a little bit of a lift since this is a little bit high. And we just need to make sure we put everything back up before we hit the road again, 'cause this could stick out pretty far out. And tuck away the strap, so it's a little bit more compact. And from here, since I mentioned how high this sits, we can actually give a measurement.

And that measurement is gonna be from the lowest point. About 20 inches. So that's actually pretty good because if you're driving on the road, you wanna make sure you don't make ground contact. And even if you do have this loaded up, it's probably only drop down by a few inches. They shouldn't make contact with anything. As for the distance that sits away from our vehicle, we're going from our back bumper to the back of the carrier. That's gonna be about 30 inches, which stats are pretty good. You have it in those really tight spots like a parking spot or garage, just keep an eye on it. And if you wanna save space, you can. All you have to do is pull that same lever we tilted it back with earlier, and push up so it kind of sticks into place. And if we get this next measurement, this is only gonna stick out about 13 inches. So that's gonna save you a lot of room. As for how it's gonna sit on the back of our vehicle today, it's not gonna block too much. So you'll see it kind of sitting right next to your license plate. It should still be mostly visible, along with your backup camera. Now, I'll probably catch a little bit of this, but it won't impede you from using it. And as far as your taillights and back window is concerned, it won't block that at all. And the way this is gonna install is we're gonna have this two inch shank. It goes into your two inch hitch receiver. We'll then have a pin that goes through and connects to this lock core. That lock core is just giving you extra security and it's gonna be the same key system as your integrated bike cable locks. And if we look at the back of the carrier, you'll notice we have this anti-rattle knob. I like this because it's super easy to use. You don't need any tools, you just hand tighten it, and then it locks everything into place and prevent any rattling from occurring in your receiver so it doesn't damage anything. Something else that's gonna make this one unique is gonna be this integrated bike repair stand. Doesn't take very long to use at all. Just turn a few knobs and then you can operate it. It's perfect if you've ever experienced any maintenance issues on the road or you've had to make some repairs out and about, but you didn't have any type of stand. That's great that this is integrated int
