The Howrah Maidan-Esplanade section, set to become a groundbreaking addition to the metropolis' transportation network and poised to be the first transportation tunnel under any mighty river in India, will boast the deepest metro station in the country. In the Howrah Maidan to Esplanade section, a total of 130 services will be available daily from Monday to Saturday. It's been announced by the Metro Railway that trains will run at 12-15 minute intervals in both directions.
According to the latest update, the first train will depart from both Howrah Maidan and Esplanade at 7 am, with the last service wrapping up at 9:45 pm. Officials have detailed that there will be a 12 to 15-minute gap between trains, varying depending on the time of day. During peak hours from 7 am to 9 am, 11 am to 5 pm, and 8 pm to 9:45 pm, trains will operate every 15 minutes. Meanwhile, during other times, the interval will be 12 minutes. The under-river section of the tunnel will be 520 meters long, and a train will take around 45 seconds to cross it.
