Great Yarmouth – Time for Care
Great Yarmouth took up the offer of support available through the Time for Care programme - Learning in Action, General Practice Improvement Leaders programme and Productive General Practice Quick Start.
The programme helped meet the challenges Great Yarmouth practices face looking after a population that is made up of largely the elderly and retired in villages, alongside one of high deprivation in an urban centre. Time for Care is part of the support available through the General Practice Forward View and delivered by the Sustainable Improvement team, NHS England.
The programmes have delivered initial benefits for the practices:
• released over 850 GP appointments a year equating to 146 GP hours
• 1.5 hours of GP time released a day equating to 390 hours a year.
