First residential tower proposed for The Pearl district

A major milestone has been reached for Charlotte’s The Pearl, with plans now filed for the first residential development inside the medical innovation hub.

For months, The Pearl has been defined by research labs, classrooms and innovation spaces. Now, developers are taking the next step toward transforming the district into a true mixed-use neighborhood.

Plans were submitted to the City of Charlotte in November for a multi-family tower at the corner of Pearl Park and McDowell Street. The project, called Anova, would bring 382 apartments to the district, marking the first time people would live on-site.
