Modifying the Klipsch Heresy

Adding Dynomat to the horns, acoustic foam to the cabinets, sealing up the rear panel with gasket tape, new metal poly caps for the crossovers.
I did fail to upload a follow up for this project, they sold very quickly to a fellow in France. This particular pair had the 16ohm woofers (red surrounds, no whizzer cone) with the Type C crossovers. I listened to them for 20hrs or so with a Pilot 240 EL84 based integrated, I very much enjoyed them. They sounded best with jazz and classical which is no surprise. The Heresy, unlike the NLA Advent for example, is very much dependent on what’s down stream. It’s obvious these would sound best on tubes as that’s when they were designed. If the Heresy was designed to be used with a Pioneer 650 it would be a different speaker.
I am in the process of heavily modifying a set of Decorators as per a few threads on The Klipsch Community using the Eminence Delta Pro 12a, Eliptrac aluminum wave guilds, B&C DE120 tweeter, ported cab, type B crossover. Alas they will only be Heresy’s in appearance but looks to be a fun project. I will post related links and experiences. Thank you for the comments and interest.
