A new pair of Klipsch La Scalas are $12,000 new. The design of the cabinet has not changed since Paul Klipsch introduced them in the 1960's. This means that a used pair can be updated to sound as good, or even better, than a new pair.
Bob Crites is the Klipsch guru. He makes replacement crossover and updated speaker components for Heritage Klipsch Speakers. With his guidance I was able to replace the crossovers, tweeters and mid range diaphragms. To my ears, the La Scalas now sound better than the new ones being sold by Klipsch for Buccu Money!
