1977: Luciano Pavarotti in Chicago and in the Kitchen

This profile of Luciano Pavarotti (produced with Marjorie Fox) aired Sunday 23 September, 1977 on WMAQ-TV's 10 pm newscast.

Pavarotti had opened at Chicago's Lyric Opera two nights earlier, singing the role of Nemorino in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore.
Also featured in the piece are Pavarotti's then wife Adua and his daughters Lucrezia, Cristina and Giuliana.

The piece was shot by Amatore Mazzacano (camera), Jake Collins (sound) and Dominic Contursi (electrician). WMAQ-TV was still using three man IATSE film crews for some of its field production.
