Laparoscopic repair of traumatic diaphragmatic hernia - Case report

A 75 years old female patient admitted to hospital due to bdominal pain especially after the meal, With the pain in left hemithorax and left shoulder and the heartburn. These symptoms started about a year ago Esophagogastroduodenoscopy was performed and paraesophageal hernia was spoted with chronic gastritis in antral part of the stomach.
Roentgengram of the gastroduodenum showed that esophagus was normal in shape and diametar with nodefect or holding of contrast. The stomach irregular in shape, cascaded with part of gastric air bubble in thoracic cavity and large hiatus hernia.
MSCT of thoracic cavity finding : a loop shape paraesophageal hernia with signs of perigastric inflamation and unclear esophagogastric juncture.
The chest roentgenogram was done a day after the surgery - normal finding.
During the surgery, post traumatic hernia was noticed (anamnestical data about one year old injury).
Postoperative recovery without complications Patient was discharged from hospital the 5th postoperative day in a good general condition with normal digrstive functions.
