"Atheists Have No Ultimate Hope" | Dumb Things People Say to Atheists, Part 8

I'm sure you've all heard someone tell you we atheists have no ultimate hope. Because even though we can hope for forms of temporary happiness, we have no permanent reassurances, right? And when people fail us, we have no perfectly trustworthy heavenly father to fall back to.

But what is "ultimate hope" to begin with? Is it a good thing? And does Christianity even offer it? Most of all, what are the consequences of relying on an "ultimate hope" that's not grounded in reality? Say tuned to find out... Or at least to hear my imperfect personal thoughts on the matter.
