It’s been at least five years since I visited Pickle Springs Natural Area. A week prior to this hike, I visited a similar named Pickle Creek area at Hawn State Park which is about 15 minutes north of Pickle Springs, down in the same general area of Missouri. This area features a two mile hiking loop with a creek which is fed from a natural spring. There’s some elevation changes during the hike, and plenty of beauty abound. The visual highlights of the trail include Double Arch and Dome Rock.

The loop is generally marked to follow clockwise. Trail markers have improved since the first time I visited this area with my children when they were younger.
