Andrea Szewieczek was born in 1992 in Linz, Austria.
She started her musical education at the age of 7 with violin lessons at a local school of music. Additionally, at the same time, she began to learn to play the piano autodidactically and eventually received her first piano lessons at the age of 10.
During the following years, she won several prizes in the national music competition “Prima la Musica“, both as a soloist and chamber musician.
At the age of 17, she began her studies at the University of Arts in Graz with Prof. Christiana M. Perai. Two years later, she entered the soloists’ class of the internationally renowned pianist Prof. Markus Schirmer. In 2014, she passed her bachelor’s degree in piano pedagogy with unanimous distinction and is now continuing her solo studies.
She attended various international piano masterclasses with Oleg Marshev, Paul Badura-Skoda, Christopher Hinterhuber, Jan Kadlubiski, Jens Elvekjaer and others.
Beyond her university studies, she has been performing regularly as a soloist, accompanist and in different ensembles. Her recent performances include a production of “Carmina Burana” at the Brass Festival in Brucknerhaus Linz, a piano duo concert of “Steirischer Tonkünstlerbund” in Graz, a solo and trio recital in Krakow (Poland) and a solo performance at Alba Music Festival (Italy).
In 2014, she took part in the “International Piano Competition Ischia” (Italy) and the “XXII International Music Competition Cortemilia” (Italy) and was awarded the 1st Prize in both of them.
