Porsche 914 Door Jam/Post Removal
Sunday March 14th, 2021
Just when you think you’re making progress an old friend called RUST appears and says “let’s take the long route to the finish line”. In this video there’s a great amount of rust elimination but I take one step back on the progress scale.
Sometimes the most wise decisions involve cutting/grinding and fire to make a fine tuned piece of art! I start out purchasing a new door jam from Restoration Design and start to get the piece fitted but when I realize there’s more to been seen behind closed panels things heat up! Using fire and a chisel I display how to remove the old rubber coating from the metal. Unfortunately after exposing a good amount of rust under the rubber coating it’s evident that the panel welded in from the last video is on the chopping block and needs to be cut out once again but this time we go big!
I hope you enjoy the video and for those of you anticipating the rebuild of the new panels stay tuned!
Please remember these videos are for demonstration and viewing pleasure only.
To those of you following, subscribing, commenting and liking I just want to say you keep me going on making these videos and your encouragement goes a long way! And even the ones who just watch or click through you’re appreciated as well. Have a fantastic day everyone! See you on the next video.
It’ll take some time to create the panels and weld them in so in the meantime you may see the release of a special engine rebuild involving a rotor! ;)
Thanks again for watching!
