For three hours of walking at a brisk pace, I can see little. But I saw very significant historical places. Even for the sake of just one Mary's spring, it was worth coming to Ein Karem. The Visitation Church and the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission were not available for visiting, but I saw them outside.
The Russian Convent with its golden domes is generally inaccessible to the inside, but it is worth seeing from the outside and the view below. But you can only drive up to it from the side of the Hadassah hospital.
In Ein Karem you can meet odious personalities preaching their vision of the world.
