Mega Man 2 (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Mega Man 2 as it appears in Capcom's 1994 compilation title for the Sega Genesis, Mega Man: The Wily Wars.
This recording is of the European PAL version running at 60hz. The game was patched to allow it to run on an NTSC system.
The Wily Wars offers a nice upgrade to Mega Man 2's graphics, and a lot of the remixed music is great, even though it can't compare to the NES version's soundtrack. It plays generally the same as the original, but there have been a few tweaks. Mega Man shoots slower, enemies now have short periods of invulnerability after being hit (grr... I really dislike that change), Mega Man now stops dead in his tracks when firing some weapons, and a lot of the damage values have been tweaked, and there's much more slowdown than there was on the NES. Most of those changes won't matter to you unless you know the NES game inside and out, but if you do, be warned that they do have a fair impact on the gameplay.
Even still, it's Mega Man 2! It's no replacement for the NES title, but it's close enough that you can still easily lose track of the hours while playing it.
