Los Angeles. Isabel Guerrero y su amiga Jenny corren cerca al colegio. Fernando Salinas con su amigo maneja cerca de alli. Fernando atropella a Isabel. Fernando gusta de Ella. Isabel se prepara para su baile de graduacion. En Buenos Aires Argentina, la madre de Isabel, Madame Guerrero entusiasmada por la graduacion de su hija. Bernarda el ama de llaves tambien feliz por Isabel. Isabel compra un bello vestido rosa. Mme Guerrero dice viajara a Los Angeles. Bernarda le dice hay muchas cosas que debe hablar con Isabel. Mme Guerrero le dice Isabel Siempre ocupara su lugar. Bernarda la presiona en decir la verdad a Isabel. Mme Guerrero dice eso destruiria a Isabel. Mme Guerrero se desmaya. Benigno el mayordomo preocupado. Isabel conversa por Telefono con su novio Emilio en Argentina. el doctor dice Mme Guerrero necesita ser internada. Bernarda dice Ella se hara cargo. Mme Guerrero le pide a Benigno llamar a su abogado Dr. Pintos, referente a Unos documentos sin embargo Bernarda se lo impide. Isabel recibe llamada de Bernarda acerca de la salud de Madame. Isabel llora. Bernarda presiona a Mme en decirle la verdad a Isabel que Ella es su verdadera madre.

The story starts in Los Angeles, where we will follow Isabel and her friend Jenny, who just graduated on university there. The second person, who we will follow, is Fernando Salinas, rich businessman, who does business in Los Angeles. Isabel and Jenny are looking forward to the graduation ball. They talk about shopping new dress for the occasion. Fernando and his friends, who guides him through Los Angeles, got lost driving the car. During the jogging, Isabel is hit by car driven by Fernando. Isabel starts to argue with Fernando, that he drove too fast, Fernando opposes, she should observe the street before crossing it, or running it through. In the reception of the hotel, where Fernando is accomodated, orders the receptionist to search for surname and address of the girl (Isabel), who he hit by car earlier today. After that, he moves on business meeting. Isabel and Jenny leaves the college building to go shopping the ball dress. Meanwhile, in Buenos Aires, madame Guerrero, Isabel's mother, return home, where she is welcomed by Beningno, the driver and Bernarda, the majordomo. Madame Guerrero informs all the servants, that Isabel graduated. Isabel and Jenny went shopping and Isabel chose pink ball dress. Bernarda starts warning madame Guerrero, that Isabel graduated and the time has come to tell her truth, who is real mother of Isabel and all things. When approaching the car, Isabel asks Jenny, which dress she bought. She replies, that none because of low money. Isabel orders to return to the shop and buys dress for Jenny. Fernando returns to the reception and receptionist tells him, he failed to find the surname of the blonde girl. Bernarda boosts her warnings about telling the truth to the Isabel. Madame Guerrero still doesn't want to do that. Fernando and his friend summarizes the difficulties of life, of loosing the parents etc. In one of the invectives from Bernarda to madame Guerrero, madame Guerrero suffers heart attack. Bernarda and other service call doctor Vergara, the practicioner, who cares about madame. Doctor Vergara tells all, that madame suffered heart attack and her health's condition is very grave. Emilio, young man, who is in love with Isabel, makes telephone call to her and wants to read a letter, which he wrote for her. Doctor Vergara wants to hospitalize madame Guerrero, but Bernarda prevents it, telling him, that she could provide all, what madame should need. Madame Guerrero orders Benigno to call Isabel in Los Angeles, but Bernarda prevents the call being made. Instead of Benigno, Bernarda makes the telephone call and demands immediate return of Isabel, because madame Guerrero is almost on her deathbed. Isabel starts crying and can't stop, meanwhile Bernarda argues with madame Guerrero about telling the truth to Isabel.
