1987 - Lotus 99T 'Active Suspension'
People always tend to think of the Williams FW14b when thinking about 'Active Suspension' but it's an area that the Lotus really pioneered. Lotus tested their active suspension throughout the early 80's but it didn't find it's way to the car until 87 and allied with Senna's ability the 99T propelled him to victories in Monaco and Detroit whilst also finding his way to the podium on many other occasions. This video shows how the team were using 'Active Suspension' and it's benefits in terms of aero.
