Notes on Nature TV 7: Big Garden Birdwatch, identifying finches, wildlife garden tip and your photos
We're all getting ready for Big Garden Birdwatch (29 - 31 January)! Naturalist, broadcaster and writer Mike Dilger gives advice on identifying garden finches... Miranda Krestovnikoff, TV broadcaster and RSPB President, gives us an update on her local kestrels... Scala Radio presenter and bird enthusiast Simon Mayo reveals his favourite garden birds... Our wildlife gardening expert Adrian Thomas has a useful tip for creating a home for nature... and we showcase some of your best wildlife photos.
In this episode we also introduce the work of the RSPB Investigations team - if you notice a dead or injured bird of prey in suspicious circumstances you can get in touch with the team here: crime@rspb.org.uk
In case you're wondering what the birds at the start and end of this episode are... Start: goldfinches (which Mike Dilger talks about in the video) End: house sparrows.
With the RSPB's Jenny Shelton and Jamie Wyver.
