Review planned for dozens of unidentified ballots after SA state election

The South Australian government estimates that the number of previously uncounted votes from last month’s state election is in the dozens.

Deputy Premier of South Australia Kyam Maher has requested further details from the Electoral Commission of South Australia after a second group of missing ballots was identified.

The commission did not specify how many votes were found or how they were missed, but stated that the number was insufficient to change the outcome in any electorate.

The Malinauskas government has committed to conducting an independent review of the election, a move that has received support from the Opposition.
