3 Blues Licks From The Three Kings
Here's the next episode of Three-For-All with 3 Blues Licks From The Three Kings. Without question, Albert, B.B., and Freddie King not only shared a last name, but they equally inspired and influenced an entire generation of future blues and rock stars, including names such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Robert Cray, and countless others. The massive respect and influence that these three legends of blues music carried throughout their lives/career and beyond, is the stuff of legends and this lesson focuses on revealing a little of their magic and signature sounds.
This lesson features a sample lick/phrase from each of these blues guitar masters, and aside from the specific ideas being shared, we're also taking a look at both "Albert King's Box" and "B.B. King's Box" which are so frequently heard in plenty of blues, rock, country, funk, jazz, and more, but there seems to be a certain level of mystery and mystique surrounding these extremely useful, yet misunderstood elements found in the historic playing styles of both of these blues legends.
Whether you're a fan of Albert, B.B., or Freddie there's plenty of interesting and expressive things floating around in this lesson, it's just a matter of practicing these ideas until they are comfortable to play and eventually become another batch of licks/tricks hiding up your sleeve (so to speak). There's a lot you can learn from this trio of blues guitar giants - so dig in!
