Amanda Ward, Research and Legal Advisor on the Scottish Assisted Dying Bill
Amanda Ward, Research and Legal Advisor on the Scottish Assisted Dying Bill, speaking at My Death, My Decision's event: Madrid to Edinburgh: the progress of assisted dying.
Amanda who is currently working with Liam McArthur on the assisted dying Bill in Scotland, said they are looking to jurisdictions like Australia and New Zealand to help form the safeguards around the proposed law.
“We are confident we have the support in Parliament and that within the next five years, the people of Scotland will be able to access a compassionate assisted death.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My Death, My Decision is a grassroots campaign group that wants the law in England and Wales to allow those who are terminally ill or intolerably suffering the option of a legal, safe, and compassionate assisted death. With the support of over 3,000 members, we advocate for an evidence-based law that would balance individual choice alongside robust safeguards and finally give the people of England and Wales choice at the end of their lives.
