Forward Collision Avoidance Assist (FCA)

Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, or FCA, uses a forward-facing camera and, if equipped, radar sensors to help detect and monitor vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists ahead and warn the driver of a possible collision.
FCA will display a warning message on the instrument cluster … and an audible warning will sound.
If necessary to help avoid or mitigate a collision, FCA may apply the brakes.

On most Kia models, FCA is on by default.
To adjust the FCA settings, go to VEHICLE SETTINGS in the infotainment system.
To access these settings, press the SETUP button.
Then the VEHICLE button.
You’ll see DRIVER ASSISTANCE and VEHICLE SETTINGS …
Press FORWARD SAFETY.
If FORWARD CROSS-TRAFFIC SAFETY is selected, it provides a warning and may provide emergency braking when the system detects a collision with forward cross-traffic.
If ACTIVE ASSIST is selected, FCA will warn the driver with a warning message,
an audible warning,
and may provide braking assistance, depending on the level of collision risk.

On some Kia models, FCA settings can be adjusted in the User Settings in the instrument cluster LCD.
Press the MODE button on the Steering Wheel to toggle to User Settings.
Press the OK button to enter…
Driver Assistance…
Then Forward Safety.
If WARNING ONLY is selected, FCA will warn the driver with a warning message and an audible warning only.
With this setting, braking assist is disabled.
If OFF is selected, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist is turned off.
