Laura Capps Intro to Earth Day Festival 2021 – Youth Environmental Activism
Laura Capps is a long time member of the Santa Barbara community and helped the Community Environmental Council kick of 2021 Earth Day Festival with the theme of Youth Environmental Activism. She has served on the board of the Community Environmental Council and was elected to the Santa Barbara School Board, where she still serves.
Laura worked in Washington, DC for many years as a White House speechwriter, and a U.S. Senate communications director. For over two decades, Laura has counseled and led public affairs campaigns for national leaders and dozens of major organizations. She is also launching a new business called Capstone, with a team of women who bring the expertise and experience to provide strategic guidance and hands-on support to those facing complex challenges.
Laura Capps takes Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival on a visit to Monroe School, with kindergarten teacher Ellen Hunter and her students as they learn how to compost and plant an organic garden.
