Native NZ Birds at Tiritiri Matangi Island + Visiting America's Cup Village | Auckland, NEW ZEALAND

In this vlog we did a day trip out to Tiritiri Matangi Island before returning to America's Cup Village and ending our evening with a delicious meal at Hello Beasty on Auckland's Viaduct Harbour.

Tiritiri Matangi Island is an open wildlife sanctuary and one of New Zealand's most important conservation projects. We heard about this place from some of our viewers and thought we definitely needed to check it out especially with Peter being such an animal/bird lover!

There are 3 guided walks to choose from when you arrive on the island. We went for the 'middle' choice (a coast to coast walk). It's recommended for first time visitors to Tiritiri Matangi Island to book a guided walk. The volunteer guides are full of knowledge about the wildlife and plants on the island which will definitely enrich your experience and time spent there.

With America's Cup drawing nearer, after we got back to Auckland CBD Peter snapped up an official Emirates Team New Zealand supporters tee from OK Gift Shop:

We then wandered around America's Cup Village and randomly bumped into @Chasing a Plate - Thomas & Sheena which was a wonderful surprise! Check out their awesome YouTube channel for incredible food adventures from all around the globe and New Zealand too :)

Our day ended at Auckland's waterfront at a delicious Asian-fusion restaurant called Hello Beasty. We enjoyed every dish we ordered. Punchy flavours and friendly staff, it's a great place to visit if you're looking for some tasty plates to share at the Viaduct.
