41 Club National Association President 2020, Peter Good chats to John Butler

On Tuesday 21 April 2020, the UK -like most of the world- was in COVID19 pandemic "lock-down". Communities, institutions and households and individuals were subject to unprecedented restrictions on movement and physical, social interaction. This presented new challenges to a society that, since the ending of the second world-war, had become accustomed to liberal values and freedom to both roam & associate.

As a former member of a Round Table club and an active member of the Ex-Tablers' follow-on group known as "Deeside 41 Club", social/local history enthusiast and commentator, John Butler was curious. How might the present generation of volunteer community service clubs within the "Round Table Family", offer support and comfort to those in UK society who were most in need at the present time?

In this recording of a "live" tele-conference call, John chats with Peter Good. After serving his local Round Table Club in Ashby de la Zouch, Peter joined the "follow-on", Ex-Tablers "41 Club". In 2020 Peter became President of the National Association of Ex-Tabler's Clubs.
We hear Peter speaking of his tentative introduction into the "fun with fellowship" community volunteer ethos of Round Table, recollections of memorable highlights of his time when he served as Chairman at his local club at Ashby-de-la-Zouch and his aspirations for the future.
