Tesla is adding Starlink satellite to its Supercharger stations, which will have profound implications for the two companies. Elon Musk has promised free Wifi at Superchargers which is useful since commuters always stop to charge up their Teslas and Tesla doesn't want to be charged a high bill when the Model 3 or Model Y uses its built in 4G connection. Even with the premium connectivity package, it makes sense for Tesla to offload this data transfer to Starlink.
While the Starlink terminal has recently had a design change, the partnership between Tesla and Starlink could allow for building the satellite dish's antennas or phased array right into the vehicle itself such as the Cybertruck or the Model S and Model X. Since these are expensive cars it makes sense to start here, even the Tesla Semi could have a built-in Starlink connection, before moving to other vehicles. Built-in Starlink would have reduced cost and could put Tesla even further ahead from its competitors.
