When it comes to the whole of human existence, 200 years doesn’t seem like that long. But in terms of medical advancements, there’s a huge difference between the way people lived — and died — a couple of centuries ago versus today. Chances are, you’ve never lost someone to intestinal parasites. Thanks to the miracle of modern science, gut worms won’t kill much more than the mood these days.
