Linkin Park dropped their debut album, “Hybrid Theory,” in 2000. It was a mix of metal, hip-hop, and electronica, held together by a combination of Mike Shinoda’s rap skills and Chester Bennington’s powerful lead vocals. In spite of being lumped in with other “nu-metal” bands of the time, Linkin Park set itself apart with its lyrics and unique style.
The band quickly gained success — “Hybrid Theory” was declared a best seller by 2001 and has since been certified 12x Platinum.
