Why Every Server Is Not a 4-Socket Server

Check out the STH main site article here: https://www.servethehome.com/why-all-servers-are-not-4-socket-servers/

We go into the pros and cons that lead one to buy a 4-socket server (also noted as 4S or 4P.) We explain why 4-socket servers can save on many costs and why there are performance advantages for dual-socket servers. We also discuss some of the cultural reasons for and against 4 and even 8-socket servers such as why 8-socket servers are popular in China in the last third of the video.

The main 4-socket server we showed in this video is the Supermicro 2049U-TN8R which you can find the full review at: https://www.servethehome.com/supermicro-2049p-tn8r-review-optimized-4p-intel-xeon-scalable-server/

We also showed a video segment from installing NVIDIA SXM2 GPUs you can read about here: https://www.servethehome.com/how-to-install-nvidia-tesla-sxm2-gpus-in-deeplearning12/
