The city of Yakutsk is the capital city of the Sakha Republic, Russia and is located a mere 450 km from the Arctic Circle...
The original settlement was founded in 1632 as a fort on the banks of the River Lena, one of the three great rivers of Russia that flows into the Arctic Ocean.
