Generator Custom Install in our Skoolie

Where to install the generator is unique to each skoolie build, so it becomes a custom job! We found the perfect space in our rear engine compartment, with a little help from Mike! This video shows how we built a custom rack to hold the generator and extra fuel tank, plus how Mike connected the fuel line from the extra fuel tank to the generator with an extended run gas cap (linked below). That gives us 3 and a half gallons of fuel, at 8 hours per gallon... that's roughly 27 hours of uninterrupted running time (which I'm sure we would never even need)! This will be our emergency back-up to our solar power when boondocking, in case of multiple days of cloudy weather.

About Us:

Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We're building a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible! In other words, Bussy will not be parked in our driveway, waiting for weekend or holiday getaways... when we finish the build, we'll be packing everything we're keeping into the bus and driving away from this old house forever!
We plan to be boondocking the majority of the time, so you'll see that reflected in our choices throughout the build (100 gallon water tank, composting toilet, solar power system, etc). We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, throughout the Skoolie Build, and to Infinite Adventures Beyond!

Mike & Kerry
