Skoolie Drain Pipes & Gray/Black Water System
In this video you'll see each step of building and installing a maze of drain pipes under the skoolie as Mike creates our customized waste water removal system! You'll see how we use a 2-way Control Valve and a Double Waste Valve Assembly, which give us the option of allowing our shower and washing machine water to be diverted to trees or plants, or switch to go into the gray/black water tank when necessary. This will extend the length of our boondocking ability by preventing our waste water tanks from filling too soon.
A note about why we have TWO waste water tanks: in our original plans, we thought we'd have a flushing toilet, so we installed two 33 gallon tanks under the bus, one for a black water tank and the other for a gray water tank. After we decided to use a composting toilet, we chose to simply connect the two tanks together for 66 gallons of gray and/or black water capacity. Since then we have learned that kitchen sink water is generally considered black water, so that goes straight into our tanks. Later on, we will also be plumbing a line for urine only from our composting toilet straight into the tanks, so that is black water as well. But if/when we need to keep all waste water contained, then our gray water from shower and washing machine can go into those two tanks as well, so we are calling them "gray/black water" tanks in our case!
(Also, in a future video, we will be installing a digital liquid level sensor system as well!)

About Us:
Hi! We are Mike & Kerry, the proud owners of a 1992 Bluebird rear engine (pusher), 40' school bus! We named her Bussy McBusface in honor of the RRS Boaty McBoatface travesty!
We're building a Tiny-Home-in-a-Bus for full-time living in the most adventure-friendly way possible! In other words, Bussy will not be parked in our driveway, waiting for weekend or holiday getaways... when we finish the build, we'll be packing everything we're keeping into the bus and driving away from this old house forever!
We plan to be boondocking the majority of the time, so you'll see that reflected in our choices throughout the build (100 gallon water tank, composting toilet, solar power system, etc). We'd love to have you stick around and follow us on our journey, throughout the Skoolie Build, and to Infinite Adventures Beyond!
