Mijk van Dijk is a German DJ and producer and also pioneering figure of Berlin’s early techno scene. He is also one half of the duo Marmion, alongside Marcos López.
In 1993 they released their “Berlin EP” on the legendary Superstition label. One of the tracks on the EP is “Schöneberg”, which became a defining anthem of the post-wall Berlin rave era.
The track grew into an international cult classic and remains one of the most influential German electronic releases of the 1990s.
For this week’s vlog I sat down with Mijk van Dijk for an in-depth interview about “Schöneberg” and more.
