September 24, 1988 - THE LAST PARTY - I don't think Chuck will mind if I share one more segment of the party with family and friends. I wish the sound were better but the video camera didn't have much of a microphone... I couldn't help laughing when the band, after all the rehearsal in the morning, still screwed up on 'Crying.' And the amp wasn't working right... But Del took it all in stride as usual because after all, he was among friends...

I have heard all that crap about depression, etc, etc, etc. One reason I am posting this segment is just so you can see how happy and relaxed he really was being married to LeAnne... (so relaxed he was chewing gum at the same time) Wayne and I both talked to Del the day before he died and there was no depression evident. And... You don't ask your wife to bring back some fresh fruit from the grocery store if you're contemplating suicide.... That is why I always have, still do, and always will believe that his death was an accident... Several days afterwards, I tried to tell the guy that called me from People Magazine, but that didn't make 'good copy.' I'm in the minority.............. but it "F......in" doesn't matter...

I believe what I believe.... and you'll never convince me otherwise.... and that's the name of that song...
