BIG COACH RIDE-ALONG Moving Day BOGAN FLATS to CAMP HALE - High Country Run Ep15 2023 Summer Trip

In this Big Coach Ride-Along, we depart Bogan Flats campground for Camp Hale Memorial in the Colorado High Country. Along the way you’ll see what we see and maybe learn a few RV’ing tips too. Because there were no viable alternatives, we were forced onto Interstate I-70. However, the scenery up and through that narrow Colorado River canyon made the trip interesting. The construction of that canyon section was a feat of engineering! There’s even a resupply for me, and fuel stop for the coach at one of the nicest Costco Wholesale stores I have seen. Then it’s on to Camp Hale Memorial NF CG. On that last segment, you’ll travel up and down a twisty two lane Colorado highway with seriously steep drop-offs on the other side of those tinker-toy guard rails. Crossing of one of only two steel arch bridges in the state was a another feat of engineering, especially for the late 1930's. Lastly we arrive at Camp Hale and the campground. It was a truly remote area with a complete silence that after being right on the Crystal river for two weeks, was deafening! I recommend this video for anyone who wants to see what it's like to drive a big coach over some steep and twisty mountain terrain that is at some of the highest altitudes in the US.
