Moldova has made a spectacular return to the world of Eurovision with its 2026 entry for Vienna, Viva, Moldova! from the artist Satoshi. Culture Fix’s Andrew caught up with Satoshi before he ventured off to the Nordic Eurovision Party in Oslo. The musician chats about preparing for the contest and creating the anthemic Viva, Moldova!, with expectations high for Satoshi's performance in Semi-Final 1.

Satoshi discusses working his way up in his music career and reflecting on the highs of winning Moldova's Selecția Națională, all while trying to stay grounded in the high-pressure environment of Eurovision. The musician shares the challenges of trying to craft a song that represents Moldova but also feels like it connects with an international audience.

Satoshi chats about his recent tour in the US and also playing for Moldovan fans in Northampton and around the UK, not to mention forming friendships with the rest of the community of Eurovision artists. The musician shares the excitement of being given twelve points by Jamala during his national final and the ability to adapt the performance for the stage as part of Ukraine’s national selection, Vidbir 2026.
